Separation Anxiety...too young?

My son was exactly the same way at that age, I was with him 24/7. Now he is 11 months and is better but when he wants mommy he wants mommy. He is fine when other people watch him but might have a couple mins of crying. When I take him somewhere to be watched I have the person take him in another room so he doesn't see me leave. I believe it is separation anxiety even at that age.
