Will jogging make my legs thicker?

My legs are Very skinny and I hate it, Everyone tells me to "just eat" but I do, its hard for me to gain weight, however lately I have put on a few pounds. 5 at the most. Anyway, i've read that jogging will make the leg muscles bigger (pls correct me if im wrong). Im afraid that if I start this routine, ill only get thinner :(. Maybe if I just increase my calorie intake even more? Idk im just so confused about this, some people tell me it will help thicken Up my legs, but some say itll just burn the fat.. Summer is coming and I really want to have toned/thick-ish legs. Please answer if you have experienced this or REALLY know what your talking about, because I keep getting mixed answers. :/. Oh and do you guys think maybe doing steps(like at a stadium or on bleachers) would help? Any suggestions on foods or other exercises would be appreciated also. I just don't want to get any skinnier... Thanx
