Hyperpigentation or sun damage..?

Okay, so I have freckles...I usually get the after I have been in the sun for hours and hours, not really easily. I just dont really burn as easily as some other people either. I really have no idea. Anyway I am looking for a product that will heal my skin from that sun damage and eliminate it. Because to me its just that sun damage. I've been told a million times before that they're beautiful and people around me call them 'angel kisses'. Honestly it just seems like patronize and coddling to me. I am not posting this because I am fishing for compliments or reassurance. I am looking for actual suggestions and because I dont want to waste time and money on something that doesnt work. Thanks! :D
