Thyroid troubles and thinning hair?

I'm 16 almost 17 andi found out that my thyroid level is at 5.6 when the normal levels are 0.5-5.5 so my doctor said that i am at a borderline very high level. I have noticed that my hair has been thinning on my crown area of my head and i've done some research and found out that hair loss can happen when your thyroid levels are high. So I'm wondering, once my thyroid issues are cleared up and i get back to a normal level will my hair begin to thicken out again? And BTW i am an extremely healthy person, i never eat fast food and i workout 4 times a week.
